Requirements & Documents
- 1Comprehensive business plan (25–40 pages, Portuguese) demonstrating economic viability
- 2Company incorporation in Portugal (or binding plan to incorporate)
- 3Portuguese NIF (tax ID) and corporate bank account
- 4Proof of savings: €11,040 minimum (12× Social Support Index)
- 5Criminal record certificate (apostilled + sworn translation)
- 6Proof of accommodation in Portugal (rental contract or property deed)
- 7Valid passport (6+ months validity)
- 8Health insurance covering initial entry
- 9Relevant qualifications or experience in the business sector
Important Notes
VFS Global document submission. Can include up to 5 co-founders. After 5 years residency → EU permanent residence. Portuguese citizenship after 5 years (A2 language). Startup Visa (IAPMEI-approved incubator) differs from standard D2.
